Pre-Journalism

Many students believe that in order to prepare for a career in journalism, they must earn an undergraduate degree in either journalism or communications. This simply is not true.

Most publications and graduate professional programs do not require applicants to hold a bachelor’s degree in those disciplines. What these employers and programs do insist upon is that their applicants hold a liberal arts degree that promotes their abilities to think, read, and write critically.
