Nursing history is the framework for analyzing themes in nursing care in the United Kingdom from the time of Florence Nightingale to the present. Prior to departing for London, nursing students spent time examining written literature and discussing the history and evolution of modern nursing as it relates to Florence Nightingale. During this presentation, they will discuss Florence Nightingale’s historic role in the development of the nursing profession and their visit to the Florence Nightingale Museum, the Old Operating Theatre of St. Thomas Hospital, and St. Bartholomew Hospital.
