Hunger and homelessness are harsh realities faced by many. In Troup County, 21.3 percent (14,400 people) of the people live at or below the federal poverty level, which is $25,750 for a family of four. Today, in our community one in three children is living in poverty. Ms. Sherri Brown, Executive Director of Circles of Troup County, will provide an overview of issue and discuss ways you can help. Circles of Troup County exists to identify and eliminate the causes of poverty and support those wishing to lift themselves out of poverty. The nationally recognized program uses a relational strategy to support both adults and their children moving out of poverty while inspiring and equipping the community to reduce its poverty rate.
