Commencement 2024

LaGrange College will be celebrating achievements of our students, especially the Class of 2024, during the months of April and May. Graduation participants of the Class of 2024 are expected to be present in cap and gown for Honors Day, Baccalaureate and Commencement, as well as dressed comfortably, but appropriately, for Commencement Rehearsal. We encourage all graduate students to participate in our Commencement Ceremony. 

Commencement will be Saturday, May 4th, at 8:30 a.m. in Callaway Stadium. Gates will open at 7:45 a.m. for students, faculty, and guests with seating on both sides of the stadium. Commencement Rehearsal will be Friday, May 3rd, at 9:30 a.m. in Callaway Stadium.

All family and friends are welcome! No tickets are required.

A separate commencement ceremony will be held for members of the Panther Baseball team on Sunday, May 5th, at 4:00 p.m. in Callaway Auditorium.

Graduates should arrive 60 minutes before the scheduled start time of your ceremony. Sunday, May 5


Panther Baseball Commencement Ceremony, Callaway Auditorium

In the event of threatening weather conditions, the ceremony at Callaway Stadium could be delayed, or changed to the severe weather location of LaGrange High School Gymnasium, 516 N. Greenwood Street. No tickets will be required for guests. Notification to implement the rain plan will be posted on the LaGrange College website and students will be notified by 7:00am Commencement Day.

If the rain is light and intermittent, the decision to delay the stadium ceremony or move it to LaGrange High School Gymnasium will be made by 6:00am Commencement Day, so please check the college website and your campus email. Clear ponchos will be available for all in the processional to wear and can be picked up at the side entrance gates from the ushers with programs.

If we move to the rain location at LaGrange High School’s gymnasium, we will hold one ceremony at 10:00am. Graduates, faculty and participating staff should arrive 45 minutes before the start time of the ceremony. Graduating students will be directed to Room G125 to line up for the processional. Faculty and participating staff will line up in the north hall for procession. Both groups will process into the gymnasium via the northwest entrance on to the floor.

Graduates will be seated in chairs on the floor. Only soft-soled shoes are allowed on the gym floor! Wedges and platform shoes are acceptable, but no heels with sharp points (stilettos) are permitted.

All participants and guests will park in the large LaGrange High School parking lot and proceed to the gym across the street, using the side entrance on N. Greenwood. Front door entrances for guests will also be opened at 9:15am, 45 minutes prior to the start time of 10:00am.

If you have not already completed a Graduation Petition with your advisor, please pick one up immediately from the Registrar’s Office. Also, please contact the Registrar’s Office if you need to change the name on your diploma. If you are not able to participate in Commencement, your diploma will be mailed to you in the weeks following Commencement.

Regalia (cap, gown, hood for graduate students)

Undergraduate (senior) students, the pickup days for your regalia are: March 5th, 10-11am; March 6th, 3:30-4:30pm; March 8, 2-3pm; and March 19th, 8:30-9:15am. The location for pick up is Callaway Academics Building, Room 120. This is only if you have not already picked up your regalia (that was distributed in August and you wore to Convocation).

Education Graduate students, you will receive your cap, gown, and hoods on April 13th during your seminar day. Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, Michaela Traylor ( will reach out to you closer to time if I have not received your measurements.

The Grad Team will take professional pictures of each and every graduate as they receive their diplomas and exit the stage at the graduation ceremony.
