LaGrange College marked a significant milestone in its ongoing commitment to enhancing the student experience with a ceremonial groundbreaking for 18 new townhomes on campus.
Led by President Dr. Susanna Baxter and attended by campus leaders, trustees, donors, and community supporters, the ceremony on Homecoming Friday celebrated the beginning of a transformative student housing project made possible through the generosity and vision of college donors.
The new development will add 76 student housing units to campus and is scheduled for completion in time for the Fall 2027 semester. The townhomes are designed to meet the growing demand for residential housing while providing students with a modern, community-focused living experience.
The addition of the townhomes supports LaGrange College's strategic efforts to strengthen campus life and meet the evolving needs of its student population. By increasing residential capacity, the College will be better positioned to welcome future generations of students seeking the benefits of a close-knit campus community.
The new housing complex will be constructed on campus and feature townhouse-style residences designed to provide upperclassmen with greater independence and a more residential living experience while remaining fully connected to the vibrant campus community. The townhome community will encourage meaningful interaction among residents while supporting continued engagement in campus life, student organizations, and College traditions. Upon completion, the development will significantly expand housing options available to students and further enhance the residential character of the College.
College leaders noted that the project reflects continued momentum in campus growth and investment. The groundbreaking serves as another step forward in LaGrange College's mission to provide a transformative educational experience while investing in facilities that support student success.
As construction moves forward, the College looks ahead to welcoming students into the new townhome community in Fall 2027.
