Vincent Hill has been named LaGrange College’s Dean of Students, effective July 1. A higher education professional with extensive experience in student engagement, equity-centered leadership, and institutional strategy, Hill most recently served as Assistant Director of Student Engagement and Belonging at Columbus State Community College in Columbus, Ohio.
Overseeing co-curricular initiatives that served more than 40,000 students, Hill led a team of full-time and paraprofessional staff, growing participation by 30% in a single academic year and launching mentorship initiatives that connected students with faculty, staff, and alumni. He also previously co-led the college's diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, contributing to measurable improvements in campus climate satisfaction, cross-campus and community engagement efforts, as well as professional development.
“LaGrange College stood out to me from the very beginning, not just for its strong academic reputation, but for the genuine sense of community and the values that guide every aspect of campus life,” he said. “My faith shapes how I lead, how I serve, and what I look for in an institution. At LaGrange College, I found a place where character and purpose are genuinely woven into every aspect of the student experience. I am deeply honored to serve as Dean of Students and look forward to partnering with students, staff, faculty and the broader community to support the holistic development of every student.”
His background reflects the college’s commitment to meeting each student where they are and honoring their inherent worth, rooted in the belief that education is not just informative, but transformative.
“Mr. Hill’s dedication to the holistic development of students made him stand out from a highly qualified pool,” said Dr. John Head, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Experience. “His passion for mentoring and his alignment with the values that guide LaGrange College make him the right fit, and we look forward to the impact he will have on our students and campus community.”
Hill holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Ashland University, a Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University, and is a doctoral candidate, pursuing a Doctor of Education in Education Policy, Organization & Leadership from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where his research focuses on racial identity development and sense of belonging among multiracial community college students. A 2025 recipient of the Who’s Who in Black Columbus award and a board member of the African American Leadership Academy in central Ohio, Vincent Hill is a proud life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.
