Beginning in fall 2026, LaGrange College will expand its roster of bachelor’s degrees with aviation leadership and human resources management.
The aviation program, which was launched at the college in August 2023 through a partnership with Paragon Flight Training, will include a leadership component to its major for students interested in pursuing management careers within the airline industry.
“We are excited to announce this new major and to be able to respond to the industry’s need for more leadership in the field,” said Dr. Maranah Sauter, interim vice president for academic affairs at LaGrange College.
In the college’s business and data sciences department, a human resources management major will be added to help meet the high demand for these types of roles.
“Organizations need experts who can attract talent and navigate a rapidly changing workplace shaped by economic, technological, social, legal and political forces,” said. Dr. Julian Rierson, assistant professor of business management at LaGrange College. “Majors will be equipped to lead people‑focused organizations through practical hands‑on learning via projects, simulations, case studies, networking and internships. In addition, they can earn the aPHR certification before graduation.”
