Summer may be quieter on the Hill, but behind the scenes, LaGrange College is preparing for the upcoming academic year—and now is a crucial moment when alumni and friends can help.
Friday, June 27, marks Pay it Forward Friday—a pivotal day that signals both the close of the 2025 academic year and the kickoff to fall preparations. Your gift before June 30, the official end of the fiscal year, can directly shape the experience of incoming students by funding essential resources like scholarships, financial aid and academic programs.
Inspired by the “pay it forward” movement at drive-throughs, this initiative invites supporters to invest in the future of LaGrange students.
“Instead of covering someone’s coffee, imagine covering part of a student’s tuition,” said Jennifer Beedy Booker ’90, Assistant to the LC Fund. “Even small gifts add up—and your engagement sends a powerful message that you believe in the mission of LaGrange College.”
Participation matters. Alumni giving rates are closely watched by ranking organizations like U.S. News & World Report and grant-making foundations. A higher percentage of alumni involvement can unlock funding for scholarships, campus improvements and programs that are beyond the college’s regular budget.
“When alumni give back, it’s not just about the dollars,” said Andy Geeter, LC Director of Development. “It’s about demonstrating that the LaGrange experience was valuable—and that others deserve the same opportunity.”
One recent graduate who knows the power of donor support firsthand is Zoe Veres ’25. During her senior year, Zoe led the Senior Giveback Challenge, rallying her classmates to raise over $3,000 for future students.
“Financial aid really is the only reason I was able to attend,” Veres said. “Unfortunately, I just didn't have the funds to make it happen on my own, but with the availability of scholarships, I was able to come here, thrive here and do all the things that I wanted here, because I love this place.”
