Devin Porter is delighted to be welcomed into the Lagrange Theatre Arts family. He earned bachelor’s degrees in Music (Piano Performance) and Theater Studies and Performance from Emory University and Environmental Engineering from Kennesaw State University. In addition to studying piano at Emory, Devin also received four years of private vocal study with music faculty and sang with the Emory Concert Choir under the direction of Dr. Eric Nelson.
Devin received the Alice N. Benston Prize for Excellence in Theater Studies and Performance, which is awarded to “a graduate who has shown commitment in the highest degree, and accomplishment in the pursuit of understanding dramatic literature in all its richness and complexity.”
He is a member of Alpha Psi Omega, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the National Association of Environmental Professionals.
Devin grew up in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky and currently resides in Marietta, GA, where he works as an environmental engineer for GHD Services while also freelancing as a musician and graphic designer.
His previous Atlanta-area piano/keyboard theatrical credits include: The Color Purple and The Sound of Music (City Springs Theatre), Falsettos and Sweeney Todd (Actor’s Express), Mamma Mia, Hairspray, The Little Mermaid, and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (Aurora Theatre), Chess, Assassins, and The Secret Garden (Jennie T. Anderson Theatre), 1776, Smokey Joe’s Cafe, and Christmas My Way (The Legacy Theatre), Parade (Wallace Buice Theatre Company), Carousel, Grease, Miss Saigon, Cabaret, and Ragtime (Serenbe Playhouse), and Company (Kennesaw State University).
Devin has also been musically involved in multiple recent productions at Lagrange College, including Holly Jolly Joyful Jingles, Take It from the Top, and I Love You Because.
It is a joy for him to work alongside the many talented and kind faculty and students at Lagrange College.
