See why LaGrange is right for you

Colleges aren't one-size-fits-all.

Just as no two people are exactly alike, no two colleges are exactly alike, either. Each has its own unique personality, its own special atmosphere. That's why, when you're choosing a college, virtual tours on the web just don't cut it. When it comes to getting a sense of how you fit in with the students, professors and community, you just have to be there.

How do I schedule a visit?

Use our online scheduler to arrange your campus visit. Or call the Admissions Office at 706-880-8005 on a weekday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and ask to schedule a campus visit. At least one week's notice is preferred for weekday visits. Please consider calling two weeks in advance to schedule an overnight stay (high school seniors, juniors or transfer students only, please) or to visit on a Saturday morning.

You may also email us at admissions@lagrange.edu.

Drop-ins are welcome during weekday office hours (Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.), but please note that without advance notice, the office cannot always provide an information session or a campus tour. Due to the need for adequate preparation time, classroom visits, meetings with coaches and professors or requests for overnight accommodations are ordinarily not available to drop-ins.

When are LaGrange open-house events?

We offer Preview Days in the fall and spring for prospective students and their families. These days continue to be a popular way for prospective students to interact with Admissions and Financial Aid staff members, faculty representatives and current students as they learn more about what LaGrange College has to offer.

When is the best time to visit?

Weekday visits are best because they allow you to witness the LaGrange College community in action, allow you to gain a more realistic perspective of campus life during the academic week. The Admissions Office will be happy to schedule a visit for you, preferably weekdays at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. Tours are not conducted on holidays or during semester breaks (fall and spring).

What happens during a visit?

Everything begins once you enter Banks Hall. An informal information session will be conducted by your admission counselor. Next, a comprehensive 60-minute tour gives you an up-close look at our historic hilltop facilities as well as recent additions to our 140-acre campus, including the new Hudson Lab Sciences Building and state-of-the-art athletic facilities.

We encourage you to attend a class at LaGrange while here, and we'll do our best to arrange it. With two weeks' notice prior to your visit, we can arrange an appointment for you to meet with a professor, coach or financial aid officer, subject to their availability.

What if my school requires verification?

In an effort to avoid unexcused absences, some high schools require that their students obtain an official visit verification letter from the Admissions Office. In support of this effort, LaGrange College policy does not allow the office to issue verification letters to drop-ins, only to prospective students who have scheduled an official campus visit. At LaGrange, an official campus visit is defined as a scheduled appointment with the Admissions Office that includes an information session with an admission counselor and a campus tour.
