Biography

Tim Fitz-Gerald is overjoyed to be a part of the LaGrange family. He comes to LaGrange from Georgia State University, where he taught Beginner Acting and Musical Theatre Ensemble. Tim holds an MFA in Theater Pedagogy and Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University, and served as adjunct faculty. In addition, Tim holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University.

As a performer, Tim created the role of “Chris Bell” in The Boy from Oz, on Broadway opposite Hugh Jackman, and can be heard on the original cast recording.  He has toured Nationally with Wicked, (Fiyero understudy), Joseph…(covering Patrick Cassidy in the title role), and Titanic the Musical, (Fleet).  Off-Broadway, Tim was seen in Reefer Madness, (Jimmy understudy), and originated the role of “Rat” in The Wind in the Willows at the New Victory Theater, and can be heard on the original cast recording.  He played “Brad” in the 25th anniversary cast of The Rocky Horror Show in Los Angeles, opposite David Arquette.  Regionally, he was seen as “Lumiere” in Beauty and the Beast (Virginia Rep), “Bobby Strong” in Urinetown, (Gateway Playhouse), “Jinx” in Forever Plaid, (Walnut Street Theater), and “Matt” in The Fantastiks, (Riverside Theater & Arizona Theater Company), among others.  Tim Played “Joe Kennedy” and “Jerry” in Grey Gardens at The Cape Playhouse, opposite Beth Fowler and Jaquelyn Piro Donovan.

Tim has directed and associate directed all over the country including productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Shrek, Annie, Urinetown, and 1776.

While on tour with Wicked, Tim taught master classes at schools all over the country, and directed The Wicked RockyHorror Show, a benefit performance staged in Denver, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.  Together the productions raised over $200,000 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids.

Tim grew up in Troy, New York, and now resides in LaGrange with his wife Brenda and daughter Maira.  He has been a proud member of Actors Equity Association since 1997, and has been represented by The Gage Group since 1999.
