Dear Parent,

Welcome to the LaGrange College family! We realize that this campus will be your student's home away from home, It is important that your family feels comfortable and informed. Know that we are here to help you survive your student's college transition.

Our best advice – encourage your student's personal growth and opportunities to experience new ideals. As your student learns to manage time and money and to make many life-changing decisions, your love and support will confirm that you believe in your student. Try to avoid the always-looming question, "How are your grades?" Perhaps ask your daughter or son what s/he has learned – inside or outside of the classroom. Beyond the academic experience, LaGrange College offers many opportunities for campus involvement, community service, fitness and leisure. Remember that mail, food and money can be wonderful motivators!

Over the next four years, you will receive Columns, our magazine for alumni and friends, Spring updates from the President, an invitation to Family Weekend 2008, scheduled for May 2-4 and more. Please keep our office informed of any address changes you may have while your student is in school in order to keep you updated on the news of the College.

If you have any questions about ways to get involved, how to obtain tickets to athletic events, plays or concerts, or where to get bumper stickers, T-shirts and other LC paraphernalia, please contact us. Your family is an integral component of our campus community, and we hope that you always feel welcome at LaGrange. Anytime you are on campus, please feel free to drop in for a visit at Sunny Gables Alumni House. You are always welcome. I look forward to seeing you at Family Weekend, if not before.
