LaGrange College, Under Armour join forces
May 12, 2014
LaGrange College and Under Armour have announced a new partnership that will make
the global leader in performance footwear and apparel the exclusive supplier for
the school's 16 athletic teams.
Beginning with the fall 2014 season, the agreement includes uniforms and equipment
for Panther student-athletes, in addition to marketing and promotional opportunities
and access to partner-only designs.
"We're proud to join forces with an industry leader known for innovation," said
college President Dan McAlexander. "Under Armour's aim to 'make all athletes better'
dovetails with our own mission of transforming student lives. We are happy to partner
together to promote performance at the highest level."
Other Under Armour college partners include Notre Dame and Auburn universities
and the University of South Carolina. NFL quarterbacks Cam Newton and Tom Brady
also endorse Under Armour products.
"We're thrilled to have LaGrange join our growing list of NCAA partners," said
Alex Brueggemann, Under Armour Territory Manager. "Bringing two champions together
always raises the level of competition. We look forward to empowering the student-athletes,
the students and the community of LaGrange College with best-in-class technology
as we strive to make ALL athletes better."
The current academic year saw LaGrange College athletic teams earn two trips to
national championship tournaments—men's basketball and golf—with two football players
reaching the finals for national honors and two golfers being ranked among the
country's top 30. Panther players were named to 25 USA South All-Conference honors
last year, and, for their achievements in the classroom, 123 student-athletes received
USA South All-Academic recognition.
"Panther student-athletes are an accomplished group," said Athletic Director Jennifer
Claybrook. "As we look ahead to the start of a new season, I couldn't be more excited
to have Under Armour supplying our teams with their standard-setting apparel and
footwear. This agreement provides the critical resources we need to enable our
student-athletes to be at the top of their game."
