London to Paris: World War II

In just one week, retrace the events of D-Day with Professor Joe Cafaro, following the path from London to Portsmouth to the shores of Normandy, then traveling the liberation route to Paris. Step back in time at important World War II sites in London. Then cross the English Channel, delving into the poignant events of June 1944 with a military historian. Stroll the legendary beaches and the cratered cliff top at Pointe du Hoc, and visit villages that still bear the vestiges of war. Enjoy free time each evening as well as an afternoon in London and Paris.

DAY 1: Overnight flight from Atlanta to London.

DAY 2: LONDON
Arrival. Meet travel director and transfer to hotel. Orientation walk; dinner.

DAY 3: LONDON
Guided tour with WWII focus. Visit the Cabinet War Rooms and the Imperial War Museum. Dinner.

DAY 4: LONDON
Morning tour of the British Museum. Afternoon and evening free.

DAY 5: CAEN
Drive to Portsmouth. Visit the D-Day Museum. Board ferry to Caen. Dinner on board ferry. Drive to hotel in Caen for overnight.

DAY 6: PARIS
Drive to Paris. Visit Arromanches, including the 3D Cinema. Visit Colleville sur Mer to see the American Cemetery and Museum. Omaha Beach and Pointe du Hoc. Dinner in Paris.

DAY 7: PARIS
Guided tour of the city. The Louvre museum. Dinner.

DAY 8: PARIS
Free day. Farewell dinner.

DAY 9: Transfer to airport for return flight to Atlanta.

Registration/Payments
Registration begins June 6 and runs through August 2, 2017. Register as soon as possible as flights and hotels fill up quickly.

Deposit due at registration: $500 plus trip and trip/cancelation insurance if you choose to purchase. Balance due December 1, 2017

Registration and payments handled by the Office of Alumni and Community Relations via credit card or check payable to LaGrange College. Register by email (alumni@lagrange.edu), by phone (706-880-8244) or in the Alumni and Community Relations Office located in Smith Hall.

There is an assessment of $150 name change fee plus any additional airline charges for any registered participant who requests a name change in writing.

  • Extra baggage fees (1 item of checked luggage is included)

*It is the traveler’s responsibility to determine what travel documents (such as passports and visas) are required to enter or connect through all the countries on the travel program. It is also the traveler’s responsibility to obtain such required documents.

Standard Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be submitted in writing, including by email or fax. The date of the cancellation is the date on which HTP receives the notice. Payments cannot be transferred to another account.

Cancellation Fees:
180 days or more prior to departure:
Full refund less a $200 cancellation fee

179 - 100 days prior to departure:
Full refund less a $350 cancellation fee

99 - 60 days prior to departure:
Full refund less a $1000 cancellation fee

59 days or less prior to departure:
No refund

Replacements for cancellations can be accepted until 100 days before departure for a $150 fee plus any incremental airline fees that are charged
