My Defining Moment
For Austin Cook III ’69, LaGrange College is a way of life. His father served as College business manager for 32 years, and he followed his mother as a graduate of the institution. Plus, he has served as campus Postmaster for 26 years. So, he had much to pay tribute to when he estalished an annual scholarship in his parents’ honor a few years ago.
“It’s a way to give something back to the school that has meant a lot to me and my family over the last 57 years,” he says.
The current recipient of that scholarship is Susan Standifer ’09. The grant helps her to be ale to attend the school she fell in love with during her very first visit.
“It’s made a huge difference,” she says. “The College has opened up my mind to see so many different options for my future. There are too many possibilities.”
