What is counseling?
Counseling is a process that creates a relationship between the counselor and the patient. Through that relationship the counselor helps the client to better understand themselves and their relationships with others resolves personal issues and allows the client to make better life choices.
Why is counseling used for?
Among the most common concerns that students bring to counseling are:
    Am I eligible?
Any full time, part time undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled at LaGrange College may use the Counseling Center.

    Who are the counselors?
A licensed counselor directs the counseling and coordinates all other services. All other counselors are associates or interns working under the direction of the primary counselor.

How do I get an appointment?
Visit or call the Counseling Center at 706-880-8177. You will be given an appointment as soon as possible. Emergency appointments will be given priority.

    What happens then?
During the first meeting with a counselor, you and the counselor will discuss your concerns and what can be gained from counseling. This is an opportunity for you and the counselor to determine your treatment options.

    Will anyone else know?
The Counseling Center staff regards your inquiries and discussions as private and confidential. All of the people who work at the Counseling Center are legally bound to keep your visit confidential. No information of any kind is given to anyone unless you specifically request it in writing.
