Nothing can cut your college experience short as fast as alcohol and substance abuse.

For everything you think the alcohol and drugs give you, you are paying the costs in physical and emotional health. You may feel relaxed and feel better about yourself but it will soon wear off and you will need another fix, and whether you know it or not you are on your way to being addicted to something that cannot give you what you think it can.

It will eventually affect your life to the point that you will begin to live your life around it. And perhaps you already are. Deteriorating study habits, withdrawal from friends and social functions, activities planned around the "getting drunk" or "getting high" are all indicators that you may have a substance abuse problem. If you think you do then find help immediately. Doctors, counselors, hospitals and many non-profit groups can help you get on the path to a clean and healthy life.
