Homestead Hospice will present about Healthcare Careers focusing on working with the elderly.  They will cover Dementia and Alzheimer disease.  Following the CE event they will have a Virtual Dementia Tour available for students to participate in (must register to participate in the tour by emailing This event is sponsored by the Career Development Center, Nursing Department, Psychological Sciences Department and the Counseling Center.

Description: With over 10 years of experience in e-commerce and online marketing, Brandon Eley is the co-author of "Online Marketing Inside Out," and SitePoint Tribune, which reaches over 200,000 web professionals weekly. He regularly presents nationally and internationally about online marketing. Brandon will cover how Social Media is directly affecting the employment world, social background checks will be covered. Co-hosted by the Career Development Center and Business and Accounting Department.

Building a Professional Brand

Description: Kimberly Towles is a Harris county native and CSU Alumnus with a BA in Computer Information Systems Management.   Employed with TSYS, the leading processor of merchant acquirers and bank credit card issuers, Kimberly currently works as a Process Improvement Consultant for a Service Delivery group that supports external clients, software development, and internal business teams and processes.  Her job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting training courses for team members on new processes, editing company procedures, and facilitating process discussions for mid-level to executive level management.  Kimberly is a member of Toastmasters International, a non-profit organization committed to grooming better speakers and leaders worldwide.  Within Toastmasters, Kimberly has held the office of Club President, Club VP of Membership, and VP of Public Relations.  Currently she serves as a mentor for new club members and was recently appointed as an Area Governor with the responsibility of being an ambassador between the District and the local clubs.  Her governorship includes 3 clubs chartered within notable organizations - TSYS, AFLAC and the Columbus Consolidated Government.   Today, she brings a wealth of knowledge from the “Corporate World” with experience in several industries:  Healthcare, Hospitality, Card Transactions and Payments and Public speaking.   However, regardless of the type of industry, Kimberly stands on one professional and personal principle – a quote from Mark Twain – “Always do right.  This will gratify some people and astonish the rest”. This event is co-sponsored by the Career Development Center, Business and Accounting Department, Student Engagement, and Counseling Center.
