Spring Fever!

I didn’t realize how many weeks had passed since I last wrote! The last few weeks have been both crazy and fun.

Spring break was amazing and relaxing. I spent a few days at the beach with my family and then went on a cruise with some of my friends to Cozumel! It was absolutely beautiful! We had a great time and weren’t really ready to get back in the swing of things.

Unfortunately when we got back, I had to lock myself in my room all week and finish my senior thesis, which is a senior project for English majors. I finally finished at the end of the week and was able to enjoy my night at the Pi Kappa Phi formal. It was held at a local golf club. Everyone had a lot of fun and it was a great way to end the week!

Also last week, I found out that I was accepted to UGA law school– so I finally know what I’m going to do next year! I am really excited and have already begun to look at possibilities for living arrangements.

This week is Greek Week. Each sorority is paired with a fraternity. This year, Kappa Delta is paired with Delta Tau Delta. We have participated in a trivia night, scavanger hunt, water games, tug of war, obstacle course, twister, lip sync, gross factor, and king of the hill. (I think that covers about all of them!) We will find out tonight who won and I think so far its still anyones game!

With that, I’m going to go and find out. Until next time…  ( I will try to get some pictures up of Greek Week soon… !)

March Madness…

March has officially been a crazy month and I have stayed extremely busy with my classes– and of course had fun too! March Madness in regards to basketball? my pools are going ok i guess!

A couple of week-ends ago, Kappa Delta had our largest philanthropic event. We have a “Wing Fling” which raises money for the Boys and Girls Club here in Troup County. We raised over $2,500!!! Organizations from campus and local businesses all donated wings and students, faculty, and members of the community came out on Saturday to test the wings and vote on the “Best Wings of LaGrange!” This year the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity won— it is a huge competition and people get pretty competitive! But, like I said we were able to raise a lot of money and have a lot of participation— which makes it successful! Below are some pictures of the event:

Things in LaGrange are getting sort of crazy. There is only a week and half left of classes until Spring Break and people are starting to count down the days! Its sometimes hard because a lot of other colleges have early spring breaks– so we are all ready to go!

Classes are still going well though. I just finished my last big midterm of the semester– and I guess my last midterm of my undergrad career!

Spring has definitly arrived and the campus is absolutely beautiful— I’ll post some pictures of that later in the week. Until next time…

Spring Time

s34103166_30748096_6758.jpgWhat a beautiful day outside today!  I have been enjoying the warm weather.  Beside the dorm I live in is a huge field and I have gone outside several days this past week and read. It was really nice not to have to be inside all the time.

SGA sponsored an event a few weekends ago called Vegas on the Hill. Its is basically a fake Vegas at LaGrange. Its an event where we can gamble with fake money.  We had raffle tickets to win prizes. Some of the prizes included an ipod, TV, DVD player, and movies. Just my luck - I didn’t win a prize but I still had a lot of fun.

s34103166_30748046_4327.jpgn34103166_30748049_3790.jpgThere was also the “Chapel of Love” which featured Elvis performing fake weddings. I convinced my boyfriend to do that with me. It was so much fun.  My classes are going really well. I had a test this past week and I should be getting my grade back tomorrow. Hopefully it will be good :) Have a great week!

A little catching up to do…

n158100022_30130500_7542.jpgSo, I can’t believe it has almost been a month since I have posted… sorry for abandoning!
Things have just been absolutely crazy around here. I am trying to live up every moment of my last semester as an under-grad. My classes are going really well– and I was lucky to be able to take classes this semester that I wanted to take (meaning no required Core, etc.). I am taking Georgia History, Intro to Women’s Studies, Medieval Literature, and my English Senior Thesis class– all of which are going really well.

untitled.JPGCampus life has been pretty busy, unfortuantely, I have too– so I haven’t been able to attend a lot of events. Kappa Delta did have a social last week though, which was a lot of fun. It was a stoplight theme— and you wore red, yellow, or green– depending on your relationship status.  We all had a great time– as you can see from the pictures below!

It is hard to believe that my four years is here is almost over. I joined the Class of 2007 Challenge Committee, which helps encourage graduating seniors to begin giving a little money back to the college for student scholarships. We are planning a big “Almost Alumni Affair” and already beginning to order graduation annoucements! It just seems like everything is going by so fast!

Until next time… (and I promise I’ll try to post before the next month!)
