Coach's Corner:
Welcome to the first edition of the PantherNewsletter. As the school year begins, there is a great deal of excitement surrounding the coming season! As we work hard to blend our six returningplayers with the thirteen new additions to our program, we keep this year'smotto in mind: One Team
One Goal
The past two years have seen the increase inacademic standards, marked by our exponential climb in team grade pointaverage; increase in community involvement; and a continual climb toward thetop of the Great South Athletic Conference. There is a developing air about our program, and it is one that I lookforward to experiencing.
On behalf of the entire coaching staff, I canenthusiastically say that we are busy preparing for what we expect to be thebest season in the history of LaGrange College women's basketball. We look forward to witnessing our developmentin the pre-season, and count down the days until our season begins!
Enthusiastically,
Coach Mark Isenhour

The 2009-2010 LaGrange College women's basketball teamreturned to campus at the end of August to kick off the academic year. After achieving a cumulative team grade pointaverage of 3.13 in 2008-2009, the Panthers are excited about the possibilitiesin the classroom this coming year. ThePanthers welcome back seniors Valeree Williams, Ashley DeFreitas, Cameren Farr, and Ashley Hoglund. Rounding out thereturners are sophomores Stefanie Schuck and Elizabeth Williams. Joining them on "The Hill" are DI transferHolli Vann, as well as freshmen Amanda Daly, Brandy Washington, Heather Miller,Katie Covington, Kati Keeffe, Shelby Morris, Tarah McCallister, Tiffany Leak,Sherry Allen, Kiah Britton, Kelsey Bowman, and Sarah Fulghum.
The 2009-2010 season brings many new and exciting things tobring pride to the Panthers. This pastsummer saw a complete renovation to the interior of Al Mariotti gymnasium, including a new floor and extensive aesthetic changes. This new floor has undoubtedly enhanced thefacility and created an atmosphere to encourage the program for thefuture. Another fortunate addition tothe program is assistant coach Bryan Hendley joining the staff. Coach Hendley joins head coach Mark Isenhourand current assistants Emily Cummins and Demetris Render. Coach Hendley has spent several seasonscoaching high school girls at both LaGrange Academy and more recently at FlintRiver. Coach Isenhour is very excitedabout the addition of Coach Hendley, and knows that he has taken another stepcloser to his vision with the addition of Coach Hendley.
The Panthers also saw an addition to the Great South AthleticConference this summer with the addition of Salem College in Winston-Salem, N.C. Salem joins Huntingdon College, AgnesScott College, Spelman College, Wesleyan College, Maryville College, PiedmontCollege and LaGrange College. SalemCollege should add another tier of competition to the always competitive GSAC,and will raise the stakes in the Panther's mission to win their firstconference championship.
With the first official day of practice just a few shortweeks away, Panther fans have a great deal to be excited about, and shouldenjoy watching their team grow together
