Panthers roll past Spelman 80-38

ATLANTA, Ga. - LaGrange College rolled to its eighth win in its last nine games, beating Spelman 80-38 on the road Thursday night. The Panthers improved to 7-1 in GSAC play and 13-6 overall. The Jaguars fell to 6-12 overall and 5-6 in conference play.

The Panthers got a season-high 19 points from Stefanie Schuck. Schuck was a perfect 7-for-7 from the floor that included 5-for-5 from 3-point range. Katie Covington added 13 points. Valeree Williams had a double-double of 11 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.

Spelman scored the game's first basket. It was the only lead of the night for the Jaguars. The Panthers scored 21 of the next 23 points to open up a 17-point lead with 13:24 left in the first half. The Panthers led 42-17 at halftime.

In the second half, the Panthers continued to pull away. The Panthers held the Jaguars scoreless the final 7:11 of the game. The Panthers scored the game's final 12 points for the 80-38 final.

The Panthers are on the road Saturday at Maryville in a GSAC game. The Panthers and the Lady Scots each have one loss in the GSAC. The Panthers lost 84-76 to the Lady Scots in LaGrange on Jan. 16.
