Huntingdon ends Panthers season with last second win

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – LaGrange College's season ended with a 79-77 loss to Huntingdon College in a GSAC Championship Tournament first round game at Roland Arena on Tuesday. Lori Bonds hit two free throws with 0.8 second left in the game to give the Lady Hawks the win. The fifth-seeded Panthers ended their season 11-15, while Huntingdon upped its record to 15-11.

Senior Jessica Barba sparked a second-half comeback to lead LaGrange College to a 74-68 win over Huntingdon College on Thursday at Mariotti Gym. The win closed out the regular season for the Panthers, now 11-14 overall and 5-7 in the GSAC. Huntingdon dropped to 14-10 overall and 6-5 in conference play.

LaGrange College held on for a 60-59 non-conference win over Concordia College-Selma on Monday night at Mariotti Gym. The Panthers improved to 10-14, while the Hornets dropped to 14-13. Senior Jessica Barba set a school single-season record for rebounds, while leading the Panthers with a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds.

DEMOREST, Ga. – Piedmont College opened the game with a big run and went on to a 77-58 win over LaGrange College at the Johnny Mize Athletic Center on Saturday. The loss dropped the Panthers to 9-14 overall and 4-7 in GSAC play. The Lady Lions stayed perfect in conference play, upping their record to 10-0 and 20-3 overall. Jessica Barba led the Panthers with a game-high double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds.

The Panthers improved to 9-13 overall and 4-6 in conference play with their second win in their last three games. The winless Pioneers fell to 0-17 overall and 0-10 in conference play. The Panthers completed a sweep of the season series and upped their winning streak to 10 games against the Pioneers.

LaGrange College celebrated Senior Night with an 83-68 win over Huntingdon College at Mariotti Gym on Wednesday. The Panthers closed out their home schedule with the win and improved to 14-10 overall and evened their GSAC record at 6-6. Seniors Lindsey Moore, Kay Kay Pannell, Kellee Scandrett and LaTessa Taylor were honored in ceremonies after the game. Moore and Taylor added their names to the Panthers' record book.
