Panthers upend University of the South in home opener

LaGrange College used a balanced scoring attack to upend the University of the South 87-78 at Mariotti Gym on Tuesday night. The win upped the Panthers' record to 2-1, while the Tigers (2-1) suffered their first loss.

Five Panthers were in double figures. Lindsey Moore (pictured), led the Panthers with 13 points. LaTessa Taylor had 12, while Heather Power, Valeree Williams and Ebonie Johnson each had 11. Sewanee's Steffi Renninger had a game-high 22 points.

The Panthers led 42-36 at halftime. They were able to withstand several Tiger rallies in the second half. The Panthers outscored the Tigers 11-4 over the final three minutes.

The Panthers host Atlanta Christian College on Monday, Nov. 27 beginning at 7 p.m.
