Panthers blank Spelman, set to host first GSAC Volleyball Weekend Sept. 27, 2006
ATLANTA - LaGrange College won its third straight match, blanking Spelman College 3-0 on Wednesday. The Panthers took the three games by scores of 30-20, 30-24 and 30-11. The Panthers upped their record to 4-8 overall and 2-0 in GSAC play. Spelman dropped to 0-8 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
The Panthers had a season-best .280 attack percentage. Kiley Kirkpatrick had a team-high nine kills. Megan Moore had eight kills and a .444 attack percentage. Sara Newland finished with six kills and a .462 attack percentage.
Moore led the Panthers with 18 assists, while Kayla Black added 14. Niki Metcalf had 11 digs and seven kills. Moore and Ashley Hoglund had five service aces each. The Panthers finished with 16 service aces, one off of their season-high.
The Panthers will host the GSAC Volleyball Weekend this Saturday and Sunday. The Panthers will have matches with Piedmont, Maryville and Agnes Scott. The full schedule appears below.
