Panthers sweep Spelman for second straight win

ATLANTA, Ga. - LaGrange College made it two wins in a row with a 3-0 sweep of Spellman on Saturday. The Panthers upped their season record to 5-6 and 2-3 in GSAC play. The host Jaguars dropped to 4-7 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

The Panthers swept the match by scores of 30-14, 30-17 and 30-17. They finished the match with a .293 attack percentage, their best of the season. Casey Craig led the way with 10 kills and a .529 attack percentage. Britny Greensage followed Craig with seven kills and a .312 attack percentage. Kayla Black had 13 assists, while Megan Waycaster added 10. Black also had a team-high three service aces.

In the first game, Sara Newland had four kills in five attempts to lead the Panthers. The Panthers did not commit an attack error in the first game, finishing with 12 kills in 28 attempts for a .429 attack percentage. Craig did not play in the first game. She had five kills in both the second and third games to help the Panthers close out the match.

The Panthers play at Judson College on Wednesday in a non-conference match.
