Panthers sweep away Judson

LaGrange College's volleyball made short work of visiting Judson College on Tuesday at the CEB Gym. The Panthers swept the non-conference match 3-0 to improve to 7-11 for the year.

The Panthers tied a season best with a .280 team hitting percentage. Leading the way were junior outside hitter Kiley Kirkpatrick and freshman middle hitter Britny Greenspage. Kirkpatrick tied her career-high of 13 kills for the fourth time this season, finishing with a season-high .562 hitting percentage. Greenspage was a perfect 7-for-7 in kills.

 

The Panthers got off to a quick start in winning the first game 30-8. Greenspage and Kirkpatrick combined for 10 of the Panthers' 16 kills in the game. The Panther had a hitting percentage of .414 in the first game.

 

The Panthers cooled off in winning the second game 30-23. Kirkpatrick had five kills in the game, while Megan Moore added four more.

In the final game, the Panthers heated back up, finishing with a .346 hitting percentage. The Panthers closed out the match with a 30-17 victory.

 

Senior Niki Metcalf had her streak of double-doubles end at five. Metcalf finished with three kills and five digs.

 

The Panthers host Huntingdon on Wednesday in a GSAC match at the CEB Gym beginning at 7 p.m.
