Maryville ends Panthers' season in GSAC semifinals

DEMOREST, Ga.- LaGrange College's volleyball season ended with a 3-0 loss to top-seeded Maryville College in the semifinals of the GSAC Championship Tournament at Piedmont College on Friday. The Panthers finished the season with a 12-17 record.

The Panthers had defeated Agnes Scott 3-0 in a first round match. The Panthers took the match by scores of 30-19, 30-17 and 30-25. Kiley Kirkpatrick and Niki Metcalf each had nine kills for the Panthers. Metcalf had a team-high 12 digs, while Kayla Black led the team with 16 assists.

The Panthers lost to the Lady Scots 30-18, 30-18 and 30-19. Kirkpatrick had seven kills to lead the Panthers, while Megan Moore added six. Metcalf led the team with 14 digs. Sarah Newland had 12 digs, while Moore and Grace Burgess 10. Black had a team-high 11 assists.

It was the final match for Metcalf and Moore, the Panthers' only seniors.
