Panthers down Agnes Scott to pick up first GSAC win

DECATUR, Ga. - LaGrange College picked up its first GSAC win of the season with a 3-1 win over Agnes Scott on Friday. The Panthers improved their record to 4-6 overall and 1-3 in conference play. The Scotties slipped to 2-7 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

The Panthers took the first game 30-22. Agnes Scott tied the match with a 30-24 win in the second game. The Panthers, with a season-high 18 kills in a single game, came back to take the third game 30-23. They closed out the match with a 30-22 win in the fourth game.

The Panthers were led by junior Lisa Burgee. Burgee had a double-double of 12 kills and 12 digs.  Britny Greensage added 10 kills, while Kayla Black had 28 assists. The Panthers had a season-high 17 service aces in the match. Grace Burgess had a team-high five service aces.

The Panthers are at Spelman on Saturday in a GSAC match beginning at noon.
