Panthers see successful 2008 season come to an end May 9, 2008
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. LaGrange saw its 2008 season end on Friday with a 5-0 loss to Ursinus at the NCAA First Round tournament hosted by Methodist University. The Panthers finished a second straight season at the NCAA tournament and with a final 25-20 record.
The game also marked the final game for seniors Amanda Daniel, Allison Gordon, Megan Henry and Erica Robinson. Daniel pitched 4-2/3 innings of relief in her last game as a Panther. She allowed six hits, two runs; only one earned and struck out four.
Freshman Danielle LaDuron started for the Panthers. She pitched into the third inning before giving way to Daniel. She allowed three runs; two earned and only two hits.
The Panthers were held to four hits in the game. Holly Hazelwood, Haleigh Kellar, Leah Flowers and Kayla Yeargin had the Panther hits.
In addition to their second straight NCAA bid, the Panthers also won the GSAC tournament title for the second straight season.
