Panthers swept by Emory April 16, 2008
ATLANTA, Ga. Emory swept a doubleheader from LaGrange on Wednesday at Cooper Field. The Eagles (25-9) won the first game 5-1 and completed the sweep with an 8-0 win in the second game. The losses left the Panthers 17-15 overall.
The Panthers were held to six hits in the doubleheader. Leah Flowers had two hits to lead the Panthers. Katie Hein had the only RBI for the Panthers.
The Panthers got their only run in the sixth inning of the first game. Emily Foster walked with one out. She moved up to second on a wild pitch and scored on Hein's base hit.
Amanda Daniel (11-11) took the loss in the first game. She allowed the five runs in five innings, scattering nine hits. Megan Henry (5-3) gave six runs, only three earned, in 1-2/3 innings of the second game. Henry allowed five hits and struck out two. Danielle LaDuron pitched four innings of relief in the two games. LaDuron allowed two runs, one earned, and nine hits.
The Panthers travel to Wesleyan on Thursday for a doubleheader. They close out the regular season with home doubleheaders against Centre on Saturday and Emory on Sunday.
