Woodard named to Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Atlantic Team

Panther's senior shortstop Kim Woodard was named to the NFCA Division III All-Atlantic Region Team announced on May 7.  It was the third-straight year that she earned this honor, selected to the second-team.

Salisbury ends Panthers' season at NCAA Regional

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Salisbury ended LaGrange College's season with a 2-0 win Friday at the NCAA regional. The Panthers finished the season 26-20, with a GSAC championship and their first ever NCAA berth.

Panthers fall to Methodist at NCAA Regional

May 10, 2007
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – LaGrange College came up on the short end of a well played softball game, losing 1-0 to No. 23 Methodist University in the first game of the NCAA Regional on Thursday.  It was the Panthers' first ever NCAA tournament game. The Panthers dropped to 26-19 while the host Monarchs improved to 33-8. Methodist's Lesley Hewitt (13-2) and LaGrange's Amanda Daniel (15-9) hooked up in an old-fashioned pitcher's duel.

Panthers will travel to North Carolina for first-ever NCAA Tournament

The softball team will travel Wednesday morning to Fayetteville, NC to play in their first-ever NCAA Tournament hosted by #1 seed Methodist College.  The Panthers won the GSAC Tournament on April 23 to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Atlantic Regional, which is May 10-14.

MARYVILLE, Tenn. – The LaGrange College softball team claimed the school's second ever NCAA berth as they defeated Maryville College, 3-0 to win the GSAC Championship Tournament on Monday. It is the first NCAA bid for the softball program.

Panthers advance at GSAC Championship Tournament

MARYVILLE, Tenn. – LaGrange College advanced at the GSAC Championship Tournament with wins over Agnes Scott and Piedmont on Saturday.  The second-seeded Panthers won a forfeit decision against Agnes Scott and blanked third-seeded Piedmont, 7-0.  The Panthers improved to 24-17 with the wins.

Panthers take top honors on GSAC all-conference, all-freshman teams

MARYVILLE, Tenn. – LaGrange College placed five players on the the All-GSAC team announced Saturday afternoon at the conference tournament.  Senior shortstop Kim Woodard was named GSAC Player of the Year and Valeree Williams was named the GSAC Freshman of the Year. The Panthers also had four selections on the GSAC All-Freshman Team.

Panthers Swept by Emory
April 15, 2007
The softball team were swept by #20 Emory University Sunday afternoon at Cooper Field.  The Panthers fell 7-2 in the first game followed by a 14-4 five-inning loss.   The win was the Eagles' eighth-straight in the series and boosted their record to 26-6 while the Panthers slipped to 22-17.

Panthers split with Huntingdon

The Panthers split with the Lady Hawks of Huntingdon, winning the first game, 5-2 while dropping the second, 10-5.  The Panthers are now 24-14 on the year while Huntingdon currently stands at 12-15.  The Panthers secured a second seed in the GSAC Tournament next weekend while the Lady Hawks are a #3 seed.

Panthers clinch winning season on Spring Break Trip

The Panthers bounced back from dropping their first three games to win their final three of four games to finish 3-4 during their spring break trip through Texas this week.  The Panthers now are 21-14 on the season, clinching head coach Jennifer Claybrook's third-straight winning season and the school's seventh 20-win season in the short history (10 yrs.) of the program.

Panthers celebrate Senior Night with sweep of Wesleyan

The LaGrange College softball team celebrated Senior Night on Thursday with a sweep of Wesleyan College at the LC Softball Complex. The Panthers took the first game 4-3 in eight innings and completed the sweep with a 4-2 win in the second game. Seniors Hayley Hanson, Dicie Holland, Kellee Scandrett, Dawn Smith and Kim Woodard were honored between games.

The softball team fell to #23 Emory 2-1 and 2-0 in doubleheader action at Panther Field on Sunday afternoon.  The Panthers dropped to 16-10 on the season and have lost four straight.  The Eagles improve their record to 18-6.

The softball team dropped both games Saturday to GSAC-leader Maryville College, 3-0 and 6-1 at Panther Field.  The Lady Scots improved to 11-5 and remain undefeated in GSAC play (4-0).  The Panthers drop to 16-8 overall and 9-3 in the GSAC.

The women's softball team claimed two more GSAC victories on Thursday afternoon, defeating Piedmont (11-12; 4-4 GSAC) 6-0 and 8-1 in a doubleheader at Panther Field.  With the sweep, the Panthers improve their record to 16-6 and 9-1 in conference play.

Valeree Williams went 7-for-7 and scored seven runs as the Panthers defeated the Spelman Jaguars, 12-2 and 17-2 to improve their record to 14-6 overall and 7-1 in the GSAC, which is good enough for second-place in the conference.  Spelman drops to 4-10 and 0-4 in GSAC Play.

Panthers go 3-1 in Early Bird Classic

The LaGrange College softball team went 3-1 in the Early Bird Classic in Florence, S.C. to improve their record to 12-6 on the season.  After falling to No. 23 Methodist 2-0 in the tournament opener, they pulled together to win their final three games over North Carolina Wesleyan (14-0), Meredith (10-0) and Peace 6-0 at Freedom Florence Complex on Saturday afternoon.

The women's softball team split their home opener against visiting Millsaps, defeating the Majors, 6-0 in the first game while dropping a 4-3 decision in the second half of the twin bill.  The Panthers are now 9-5 on the season while Millsaps stands at 2-13 overall.

JACKSON, Miss. – The LaGrange College softball team evened its season record with a sweep of Millsaps College on Saturday. The Panthers (3-3) won the first game 7-3 and completed the sweep with a 6-2 second game win. All three wins for the Panthers this season have come against Millsaps (0-9).
