GSAC-leader Maryville downs Panthers 5-1

MARYVILLE, Tenn. - LaGrange College fell 5-1 to GSAC-leader Maryville on Wednesday night. The Panthers fell to 3-6-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the GSAC. The Lady Scots stayed perfect at 8-0 in conference play and improved to 11-3 overall.

The Panthers fell behind 3-0 by halftime. Whitley James got the Panthers on the board just 34 seconds into the second half with her first goal of the season.

Maryville outshot the Panthers 42-2 in the game. Panther goalkeeper Jennifer Eby had a season-high 18 saves, 13 coming in the second half.

The Panthers travel to Montgomery, Ala. on Saturday for a GSAC game with Huntingdon. This is the second meeting of the season. The two teams tied 2-2 on Sept. 18 in LaGrange.
