Women's Soccer Coaching Staff
Head Coach Jeff Geeter Geeter begins his fifth year and 14th overall of leading the women's program after three seasons of just coaching the men's team. He was the women's coach from 1990 through 1997.
Geeter has compiled a 63-120-10 mark in 13 seasons as the women's head coach at LaGrange College.
Geeter, an Atlanta native, came to LaGrange from his alma mater of Tennessee Wesleyan College.
He was the head coach at Tennessee Wesleyan from 1987 until accepting the Panthers' head job in 1990. His career record as women's soccer coach is 79-142-12.
In 2003, the Panther women finished 9-9-1. It was the first non-losing season in the program's history. The record was a turn around from a 2-14 mark in 2002. The Panther women tied for 13th nationally as one of the most improved teams in NCAA Division III. The outstanding season earned Geeter the Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC) Women's Coach of the Year award.
The 1992 team, which finished 7-9, was fourth in the nation in scoring. The Panthers were led by Karen Goodman, who led the nation in scoring average, total points and was in the top ten in four other categories.
Under Geeter, the Panthers have produced three all-region players, five all-conference players and five academic All-Americans.
Geeter started his collegiate playing career at Andrew College in Cuthbert, Ga. before attending the University of Alabama at Huntsville. He transferred to Tennessee Wesleyan, graduating with a BA degree in health and physical education. At Tennesse Wesleyan, Geeter was named to the all-conference, all-district, all-area and NAIA All-American teams. He was the team's most valuable defensive player as a goalkeeper, as he led TWC to a remarkable 17-4 record, which was a 12-win turnaround from the previous year. Geeter was inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002.
Geeter is married to Dianne Frazier and they have a son, Zach, 17.
Assistant Coach Mike Petite Petite begins his fifth season with the Panthers. Petite works with all facets of the Panthers' program. His duties include aiding in practices and games, along with recruiting responsibilities. In 2003, Petite helped guide the Panthers to a 9-9-1 mark, the program's first non-losing season.
Petite also serves as the head coach for the LaGrange Academy soccer programs in LaGrange. Petite has had the Academy's girls' team in the state playoffs for seven consecutive seasons that included a berth in the 2004 state championship game. The girls' team has finished first or second in their respective region for seven straight years.
Petite was a four-year letterman at East Forsyth High School in Kernersville, N.C. He played on the Greensboro (N.C.) Bucs club team for four years and was a member on a state championship squad. Petite holds degrees in finance from Appalachian State University and social science education from the University of Georgia. He completed his master in sports administration from Georgia State University in 2004.
Petite is married to the former Catherine Rivenbark. They have a daughter, Madison.
Assistant Coach Kristen Lockman
Lockman is in her first season assisting the Panthers. She makes the transtition from player to coach, after taking two years away from the game to receive her Master's Degree in Psychology. Lockman will be working towards her second Master's Degree in Education at LaGrange. She enjoyed a stellar career for the Panthers, playing from 2000-03. Lockman was a member of the 2003 team that went 9-9-1 and advanced to the semi-finals of the GSAC tournament. The nine wins were the most in school history. She holds the game record in assists with four and currently sits second all-time in career points and goals. She is single and currently lives in LaGrange.
