Panthers fall to GSAC leader Piedmont Oct. 18, 2007
Piedmont College won its sixth straight game, beating LaGrange College 3-0 on Thursday night at Panther Field. The Lions, who lead the GSAC, upped their season record to 10-4 overall and 4-1 in GSAC play. The Panthers are now 2-11 overall and 1-4 in conference play.
Piedmont broke open the game in the second half after a tightly played first half. The Lions led 1-0 on a goal by Jeremy Stille off an assist from Jorge Pradilla. In the second half, the pair hooked up for the second goal of the game. Pradilla got the goal as Stille got the assist. Stille closed out the scoring off a rebound of a missed shot for the 3-0 final margin.
The Lions outshot the Panthers 20-6 in the game, 13-4 in the second half. Panther goalkeeper Ben Rollins had eight saves in the game. Lions' goalkeeper Ben Pyle had to make only one save to record the shutout.
The Panthers host Toccoa Falls in a non-conference game Saturday. It will be Senior Day for the Panthers. Kojo Cole-Kesse, Patrick Kaney, Jase Crenshaw and Ryan Snider will be honored. Kickoff is 4 p.m.
