Baker Ranked in NCAA in Saves

Oct. 11, 2006

Junior goalkeeper Jason Baker is ranked 18th in NCAA Division III in saves, averaging 8.11 per game.  He currently has 73 saves thru nine games.  He also is credited with one shutout this season against Atlanta Christian on Sept. 2.

Baker, a Conyers, Ga. native, is in his first full year as goalkeeper.  He has improved his play over the span of the season, especially in the saves category, which he recently notched his career-high 16 saves against Maryville on Oct. 1.  He has 90 career saves as a Panther.

An Education major, Baker has been ranked first in saves per game in the GSAC the past two weeks.

The men's soccer team will look to split the season series with Averett, who defeated them 2-0 last week.  The Panthers currently stand at 1-8 overall, 0-4 in conference play.
