Panthers finish fourth at Wynlakes Winter Nationals Feb. 27, 2007
MONTGOMERY, Ala. The LaGrange College golf team tied for fourth at the Wynlakes Winter Nationals tournament played at the Wynlakes Country Club. The Panthers tied with tournament host and third-ranked Huntingdon College.
The Panthers, ranked eighth in NCAA Division III shot a final round team score of 305. It was two shots off of Abraham Baldwin's best round of the day 303. The Panthers finished with a two-day total of 621. Central Alabama Community College won the two-day event with a total of 605.
The Panthers' Freddy Uribe earned all-tournament honors. He shot a final round one-under 71 to tie Huntingdon's Matt Smith for third in the individual standings. Uribe had a two-day total of 146. Rounding out the rest of the scoring for the Panthers were: Ryan Willis (81-77, 158), Anthony Yacovazzi (81-79, 160), Bo Tiller (79-81, 160) and Ryan Howard (86-78, 164).
The Panthers host the Callaway Gardens Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, March 5-6.
