Oct. 31, 2006

GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The LaGrange College golf team wrapped up its fall schedule with a ninth place finish at the Oglethorpe Fall In Invitational at the Royal Lakes golf course. The Panthers had rounds of 307 and 304 in the two-day event.

Top-ranked and nine-time national champion Methodist won the tournament by eight shots over host Oglethorpe. The tournament featured seven schools ranked in the top 10 in both of the Golfstat and golf coach's polls.

"I think we had a very successful fall season," head coach Lee Richter said. "We have some work to do in the spring. We would have liked to have done better in this tournament but we showed our youth with some of our shot decisions."

Panupat Kuahnun missed by one shot of making the all-tournament team after finishing sixth in the individual standings. He had rounds of 71 and 74 for a two-day total of 145.

Anthony Yacovazzi followed Kuahnun with rounds of 78-74 for a 152 total. Rounding out the scores for the Panthers were: Bo Tiller (76-83=159), Freddy Uribe (82-78=160) and Ryan Willis (84-78=162).

The Panthers finished in the top 10 at all four fall tournaments. The Panthers' best finish was third at the Greensboro Invitational. Willis had the best individual showing with a third place finish at the Greensboro Invitational.
