Panthers tie for sixth at Greensboro Invitational Oct. 2, 2007
LaGrange College opened its fall schedule with a tie for sixth place at the Greensboro Invitational in Greensboro, N.C. The 36-hole event, hosted by Greensboro College, was played on the Bryan Park Champions Course.
The Panthers tied with Emory in the team standings. Methodist University won the tournament, followed by Guilford, Oglethorpe, Huntingdon and Washington & Jefferson.
Junior Ryan Willis paced the Panthers. Willis earned all-tournament honors with a third place finish in the individual standings. He had rounds of 72-73 for a one-over-par total of 145.
Alex Elorriga and Anthony Yacovazzi followed Howard in the Panthers' scoring. The pair finished with 155 totals. Elorriga had rounds of 77-78, while Yacovazzi had rounds of 76-79. Ryan Howard finished at 159 with rounds of 79-80. Tony Kim rounded out the Panthers' scoring with rounds of 82-81 for a 163 total.
The Panthers travel back to Greensboro on Oct. 8-9 for the Guilford Invitational. The tournament will be held at the Greensboro Country Club.
