Panthers fifth after first round of Emory Invitational
April 7, 2008

The Panthers were fifth out of 18 teams after the first day of the Emory Invitational in Stone Mountain. The Panthers teed off in the final round this morning as they looked to move up the leaderboard in their final regular-season tournament of the season.

The Panthers, who have placed consistently high during the fall and spring seasons, stand an excellent chance of earning a bid to the NCAA Division III national tournament in May.

"We¹ll see what happens as far as getting into the nationals. You just never know,² LaGrange College coach Lee Richter said. ³Hopefully we¹ll play well

(today) and finish on a good note."

The Panthers had five players break 80 on Monday, including Ryan Willis, who shot a 74 despite carding a triple bogey. Ryan Howard added a 75, while Anthony Elorriaga and Anthony Yacovazzi each shot a 78.

Bo Tiller shot a 79.
