Panthers tied for fifth after first round of Callaway Collegiate

PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. - LaGrange College is tied for fifth after the first round at the Callaway Collegiate Invitational on Monday. The two-day tournament is being played on the par-72 Mountain View course at Callaway Gardens.

LaGrange had a team total of 313 to tie with Texas Lutheran, 12 shots backs of Texas-Tyler. Emory is second, followed by Methodist, Darton and the Panthers. The Panthers are five shots ahead of third-ranked Huntingdon and 11 shots ahead of top-ranked Oglethorpe.

Anthony Yacovazzi led the Panthers with a two-over par 74. Yacovazzi played his final nine holes at one-under. He is tied for fourth in the individual standings, one shot behind co-leaders Matt Bova of Methodist and A.J. Vesey of Texas Lutheran.

Freddy Uribe followed Yacovazzi in the Panthers' scoring. Uribe shot a five-over par 77. Uribe played his final nine holes at even par. Ryan Willis shot 79, Ryan Howard an 83 and Bo Tiller an 84 to round out the Panthers' scoring.

Adam Garrett, competing as an individual for the Panthers, is tied for 10th in the individual standings. Garrett shot a four-over par 76.
