Panthers finish tied for seventh at Rome News-Tribune Invitational

ROME, Ga. - LaGrange shot a final round team score of 299 to tie for seventh at the Rome News-Tribune Invitational at the Stonebridge Country Club on Tuesday.

Lindenwood won the 20-team tournament by three strokes over the host school, Berry. Northwood was third, followed by a tie for fourth between Campbellsville and Shorter. John A. Logan was sixth, then the Panthers and Newman. The Panthers beat the other three NCAA Division III schools in the field; Emory, the University of the South and Shenandoah.

Anthony Yacovazzi had the low round of the day for the Panthers. The junior shot a one-over par 73 to finish at 145. Ryan Willis had a final round 74 to tie for low team honors with Yacovazzi. The pair tied for ninth in the individual standings. Bo Tiller shot 79 to finish at 155, one shot ahead of Ryan Howard. Howard had a final round 77. Freddy Uribe had the biggest individual turnaround in the final round of the 113 golfers in the tournament. After shooting 86 the first round, Uribe shot a 75 on Tuesday to finish at 161.

The Panthers next tournament is the Jekyll Island Invitational on March 20-23.
