Panther football sets new NCAA Division III record
Feb. 6, 2009

The NCAA statistics office has informed LaGrange College of a new Division III record set by the football team during the 2008 season.

The Panthers set a new mark for most-improved in a season in 2008. The Panthers went from 0-10 in 2007 to last season's 9-2 record, which included a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship and the school's first trip to the NCAA Division III national football playoffs. The 8-1/2 game improvement eclipsed the mark of 7-1/2 games set by Wisconsin-Stout during the 2000 season.

This is the first national record set by the third-year program. The Panthers set 164 individual and team records during the 2008 season.
