Team player of the week awards for MacMurray

LaGrange College head football coach Todd Mooney announced the team players of the week for the week ending Oct. 5. The players of the week are: Devin Billings, offense; Jeremy Pickens, defense; Kyle Storey, special teams; Ben Hatcher, scout team offense and Josh Clinton, scout team defense.

Billings led the receivers against MacMurray with four receptions for 57 yards. He had a long gain of 18 yards. All four of his receptions resulted in first downs for the Panthers. Pickens earned his third team player of the week award. Pickens led the defense with seven solo tackles. Storey led the special teams that scored two touchdowns for the Panthers. He recovered a blocked punt in the end zone in the third quarter for one of the scores. It was the first touchdown scored by a Panther off a blocked punt.
