Stripling named SLIAC special teams player of the week

Sophomore kicker/punter Josh Stripling (Newnan, Ga./Newnan) has been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference football special teams Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 6-12. Stripling is the second Panther this season to earn conference player of the week honors.

Stripling was 2-for-2 in field goal attempts, including a long field goal of 33 yards in the Panthers 20-6 victory over Greenville College. He was also 2-of-2 in PAT attempts, had five kickoffs for a total of 325 yards, including one touchback. Stripling also had five punts for a total of 177 yards, with a long punt of 40 yards and two punts inside the 20-yard line.

For the season, Stripling is averaging 37.2 yards per punt. He is 22-for-26 on extra points and 5-for-9 on field goal attempts.
