Team player of the week awards for Greenville

LaGrange College head football coach Todd Mooney announced the team players of the week for the week ending Oct. 12. The players of the week are: Justin Joyner, offense; Jeremy Pickens, defense; Josh Stripling, special teams; Grey Clevenger, scout team offense and Frank Murray, scout team defense.

Joyner, a guard on the offensive line, graded 86 percent against Greenville. It was the highest grade a Panther offensive lineman has scored this season.  Pickens earned his second straight defensive award and his fourth team player of the week award. Pickens led the defense with 10 total tackles, including seven solo stops. He had an interception and two pass breakups. Stripling was 2-for-2 in field goal attempts, including a long field goal of 33 yards. He was also 2-of-2 in PAT attempts, had five kickoffs for a total of 325 yards, including one touchback. Stripling also had five punts for a total of 177 yards, with a long punt of 40 yards and two punts inside the 20-yard line.
