Columbus State sweeps titles at LaGrange Invitational

The Columbus State men and women's teams swept the titles at the LaGrange College Invitational on Saturday at Pyne Road Park. Savannah College of Art & Design was runner-up to Columbus State in both meets.

SCAD's Adam Stockholm was the men's individual winner with a time of 27:17, beating John Riddle of Columbus State by two seconds. Isabel Speer of Columbus State edged Reinhardt's Leigh Derringer for the women's individual title.

The Panther men finished fifth in the seven-team field. The women were seventh in their 11-team field. William Jordan led the men with a time of 32:22, which was good for 20th place overall . He was followed by Bill Simons (32:39), Chuck Peek (32:48), Grant Kendall (34:41) and Micah McFadden (36:12).

Laura Dresdow was the women's top finisher with a time of 29:01, which was good for 25th in the individual standings. She was followed by: Lisa Heath (29:56), Jessica Barba (30:16), Katie Cummings (31:15) and Leah Harrelson (31:48).

Both Panther teams travel to Daytona Beach for the Embry-Riddle Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 23
