Cross country awards handed out at Fall Sports Banquet

Head coach Chuck Peek presented cross country team awards at the LaGrange College Fall Sports Banquet.

Senior Laura Driggers was the women's Most Valuable Runner. Driggers led the women in every meet this season. She had a season-best finish of fifth with a time of 30:13 at the 6K GSAC Pre-Conference meet. Driggers also had top 10 finishes at the Rock Ranch Invitational, the LaGrange College Invitational and the Oglethorpe Invitational.

Junior Bill Simons was the men's Most Valuable Runner and was selected for the team's Lionheart Award. Simons led the men in eight of the nine 2008 meets. He had his best finish of sixth at the GSAC Championships meet. Simons also had three other top 10 finishes at the Rock Ranch Invitational, the LaGrange College Invitational and the GSAC Pre-Conference.

Junior Amara Hickson and senior William Jordan earned the team's Coaches Awards.
