Panthers avoid elimination at GSAC tournament April 28, 2007 MARYVILLE, Tenn. - LaGrange College avoided elimination with a 7-2 win over second-seeded Piedmont at the GSAC Championship Tournament on Saturday. The Panthers (26-16) play the Huntingdon/Maryville loser later in the evening in the loser's bracket final. Piedmont (19-22) was eliminated from the tournament. Freshman pitcher Nick Vitale (4-0) led the Panthers. He pitched a complete-game five hitter, walking three and striking out six.
