At a cost of more than $2 million dollars, Cleaveland Field, named for J. Phillip Cleaveland, is one of the finest collegiate baseball facilities in the country.Callaway Foundation, Inc. made available a $1 million challenge grant to LaGrange College for the facility that isnamed in honor of J. Philip Cleaveland, who served as a trustee of the College for 19 years and also served many years as a trustee for the foundation.
Naming the baseball facility for Mr. Cleaveland, a lifelong resident of LaGrange, is "Callaway Foundation's and LaGrange College's way of honoring one of our most dear and loyal friends."
The stadium seats approximately 500 spectators with handicapped seating.The outer concourse is equipped with concessions and large restroom facilities.The inner concourse houses the Panther's clubhouse, located behind the firstbase dugout, which is 22 feet wide by 31 feet long.In addition, a training room, laundry facilities, ice machine, umpires room, and coaches office is located adjacent to the clubhouse.
