Oh, The Places You'll Go! Homecoming 2003

Approximately 700 alumni chose LaGrange College as "A place to return to" for the Homecoming 2003 festivities. Friends strolled the campus, enjoying the many activities, taking a few moments to reflect back on all the great times and friends which were made while in college. Many had not seen each other for maybe 5, 15, 40 or even 50 years, but the moment they reunited after so many years, it is as if time had stood still.

A young alumni party was hosted during the soccer matches. In this photo (from left), Jessica Schmidt '01, Diana Celorio '01 and Melissa Smith '00 enjoy the occasion. Family and friends file into the Chapel for Sunday's Homecoming Memorial Service. Family and friends filled the Chapel beyond capacity to remember those alumni who had died since last homecoming, with music, words of comfort, lighting of candles and communion. Also new this year was a revised parade route that brought the event past Sunny Gables Alumni House. Student entries centered on the theme,
The class of 1953 gathered for several functions during the weekend to mark its 50th reunion. Courtney Douglas, representing Kappa Sigma fraternity, was crowned homecoming queen during halftime of the soccer match vs. Fisk University. A new Homecoming feature this year was the relocation of many activities to Sunny Gables Alumni House, including registration. When alumni come back every year, they reflect on the educations and friendships obtained while in college which served as a springboard for making them the person they are today. The traditions of our school continue to build and expand each time you return to campus. Thank you for playing an active part in Homecoming 2003 and your alma mater.

The Homecoming celebration just gets bigger and better every year so mark your calendar for Homecoming 2004 scheduled for October 15 - 17!

Join us and create new memories to add to those you already treasure of your college days.
